Yeah for Summer!!! We have loved our summer so far!! (I have tons of previous events to post, but I needed to post some summer fun!) Jack finished school, well Mother's Day Out, May 19th and Macy finished preschool May 26th! They both love it, so I hated for it to end for them, but was glad at the same time. We needed a break. They both finished gymnastics and Macy finished dance May 25th. The last two weeks of May and first week of June were busy, but so fun! The Hogs (Razorback baseball, my other job) finished their home games (there were 32), Jeff & Traci got married and we were in the wedding, Macy had an end of the year program, her 5th birthday, her dance recital, and a mini Maland family reunion in Harrison after the wedding in Fayetteville. This was all in 2 weeks!! The pictures below are from the mini reunion at Pops and G'ma Jane's. It was nice to getaway and relax and just play with the kids and swim and enjoy the sun! We haven't had swimming lessons yet and both kids are fishes!!! They swim all over the place, jump in, go under, you name and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! Macy had swim lessons last year and it was amazing how much she learned. Jack has them for the first time this year. They both have those starting next week!!! G'ma Jane was on a synchronized swim team in college and we think Macy has her lung capacity. Macy can float so well for a long time on her back and she can hold her breath underwater for a really long time. I'm so glad!!! She isn't afraid of the water, but she is cautious and safe!!! What a combination. She loves to do different jumps off the diving board and now can do a front flip underwater and dive for things. WOW!!! Jack isn't afraid either, but we don't think he really realizes the safety aspect yet. Maybe after lessons and no floaties he'll realize! He loves it though and just kicks and swims everywhere with his floaties. He can pull himself up on the side of the pool and get out. He is so strong.
We take the summers off from activities-school, gymnastics, dance-so we can just have more playdates anytime, not be tied down if we want to go to the grandparents and swim, and just do what we want when we want. I forget until summer rolls around each year how much more time that gives us/me. The beds are almost always made, the house is kept up more and cleaner, the laundry is kept up better, we have more fun and more time to go to the park and such. I'm more relaxed for sure and just not as behind and feeling guilty and stressed, even though I really don't get stressed much. Even some projects I've had on my mind for months get done. Spring is always so busy and hard for me with adding baseball into our schedule that summer feels like HEAVEN! The kids love being outside and so we are! They play and play. We've already been to the park 3 times this week, but 2 of those times it was just Jack and I because Macy was at VBS! Macy has spent 4 days at my parents with my niece having the time of her life!!! So Jack got some one on one time with Mommy and Daddy. And then more one on one time with Mommy while Macy was at VBS, which she absolutely loves!! Man, one child is so much easier, but boy did Jack miss Macy! I took Jack to see Kung Fu Pand 2 and I took both kids to see RIO today. I'd say our summer has been fantastic so far!!
