Sesame Place 2009
My mom and I first heard about Sesame Place on an episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8. Macy has always been a HUGE fan of Sesame Street and Elmo and now loves the other characters and Jack of course loves it too. So, my fabulous mom said she wanted to take us and so we made some great memories at the end of August. We didn't know about this amazing place!!! I can't wait to go back and take the kids again, hopefully summer '10! It is an amusement and water park in one in Langehorne, PA (about 30 miles from Philadelphia). We flew out of Fayetteville to Philadelphia-not direct of course. We then rented a car and drove the 30 miles to Langehorne. The kids did fantastic! This was the first flight for both of them and they were pros. My mom and I were so proud. I mean we really couldn't have had the travel days be any better. One day at the park was perfect weather-no sun, no sunglasses, no sunscreen, no sweat! WOW! We did get caught in the pouring down rain, but we were leaving the park so no big deal. The second day was HOT, HOT, HOT! We thought this park was geared toward little kids, but no. There were kids of all ages there having fun. It was very clean and fun! The characters were awesome! They had 3 shows you could go to besides the rides, parade, stores and picture opportunities. We had breakfast with Elmo, Ernie, Zoe, Bert and Big Bird. This was the first thing we did when we got there day 1. What a way to start?
My favorite thing Macy did/said was when she would talk to the characters and ask "where's so and so". Like to Zoe, "Where's Elmo?". Then she would ask them, "can you not talk?"
The only problem we had was learning to be patient and wait in line. Macy didn't quite have this down, but we're better now and I think it will go better next time. Now, Jack will be another story. My mom would wait with him until it was our turn and then hand him to me over the rail.
Another day we drove an hour each way to go to the King of Prussia Mall. The world's 2nd largest mall. We couldn't be that close and not go. My cousin and his 2 kids met us there. He lives by Philly.
After day 2 at the park we drove another 1 1/2 to Lancaster County to see some of the Amish Country. No, neither my mom or I had ever been to PA, but we had a GPS and are independent and wasn't going to miss out on anything. My Honey Bun, mom's mom who passed away in June, loved the Amish. I have Amish dolls she made me when I was little. She and a friend had come up there years and years ago, so my mom really wanted to see it. Now, that's another trip in itself. We drove and drove and finally got to see some of their homes, farms, stores, and BUGGIES!! My mom and I were screaming, "there they are". One man and wife were walking down their driveway dressed head to toe in the "attire". We saw several families coming back from church in their horse drawn buggies going through the stop light on this busy 5 lane highway. They do have a special lane for them. The kids were turned around looking out the back in their hats and were precious. We pulled over at a gas station to get a better look safely and take pictures of course and Jack threw up in the rented car seat in the rented car! Once we got home home he was acting different, so I took him to the doctor and poor baby had ear infections. He flew 4 times with ear infections and never fussed!! He had not one symptom, but how he was acting was his way of telling me and THROWING UP.
We all had a wonderful time! Thank you Nanny so much for all the fun, love, patience, goodies and memories!! You are the best! Oh, We Love You So!!!
I've probably left out something since 3 months have gone by since the trip. There are TONS of pictures. Be sure to click on Older Posts at the bottom to see more pics on the next page.
